Blue Lotus Consulting & Training was founded in 2001 by Vivian M. Linderman, a strategic thinker and visionary. Vivian brings the knowledge and training of multiple career and educational experiences to serve clients across different types of organizations. Prior to establishing Blue Lotus, Vivian worked in the nonprofit field in the areas of administration, fundraising, and special event planning and coordination. She continues to work as an academic reference/instruction librarian and is a former elementary and adult education instructor. Vivian has held leadership positions on several nonprofit committees and boards of directors, and with a civic advisory committee.
Vivian holds masters’ degrees in public administration and library science, an undergraduate degree in social ecology, and a California teaching credential. She is trained in the Benevon approach to developing a sustainable funding base, the Peter F. Drucker Foundation Self-Assessment Tool for Nonprofit Organizations, and is one of 60 consultants nationwide qualified to facilitate and implement nonprofit mergers and partnerships through the Strategic Solutions/La Piana Associates model. She is the only in-state consultant presenting Grant Writing: Developing and Maintaining Prevention Programs through the Community Prevention Initiative.
Marissa Stein joined Blue Lotus in 2014 bringing with her an extensive background and experiences in planning and implementing marketing and social media campaigns for nonprofit organizations. Marissa has planned and coordinated state-wide special events, created and managed websites, and has seen her efforts trend on social media! She holds a bachelor's degree in international studies and a master's in natural resources management.
